Background

About the Founder

John Weidner brings to the firm 30 years of professional experience as a human resource executive and consultant.  John's corporate career began in 1982 and included progressively responsible positions with Price Waterhouse, Bankers Trust, E. F. Hutton, Chemical Bank and G.E.Capital.  Upon leaving corporate and prior to refocusing Pierway, John co-founded two other management consulting and executive search firms. He continues his affiliation with one of these, Cornell Global LLC.  

John has worked across a broad spectrum of industry sectors including financial services, technology, media and entertainment, advertising, manufacturing, and consumer products.  In recent years, John has also earned recognition for his work with new and emerging companies. 

In addition to his broad organizational work, John has coached numerous executives, providing guidance and direction through the most difficult and challenging of business and career defining situations.  Combining his background in business with his background in organizational and individual psychodynamics, John has been able to help executives identify, design, and/or develop the business or personal career strategies necessary to achieve success.  It is this same experience and skill set that John now brings as Founder of Pierway.

 

John currently maintains memberships in the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruiters, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the American Society for Training and Development.

 

John attained his Masters Degree from Boston University and a Bachelors Degree from Westminster College.

Pierway Associates is a professional career services firm that provides entry level job coaching to current, soon to graduate or newly graduated college students. Recognizing that the world of work and how to conduct a successful job search is not something students are taught in college, nor can it easily be learned on one’s own, John Weidner decided in 2009 to convert his consulting firm, Pierway Associates, into a career services firm targeting the newly minted college graduate. Even in the most robust of economies, to land a job, a graduate must learn how to conduct an aggressive and proactive job search.  To do so the graduate needs to assess their strengths and interests, develop an effective “elevator speech”, create a powerful resume, learn the art of effective networking, and ultimately, learn how to ace the interview. Through Pierway’s various programs and services as well as prior to the founding of Pierway, John Weidner has helped numerous young people develop these essential skills, helping them to gain an informed and competitive edge as they began their careers.
